About Endodontics

It is well known that the best implant is the natural root of the tooth itself. That is why preserving the natural tooth on the dental arch for as long as possible is very important to us.

Endodontic treatment involves treating a dental infection or a deep cavity. It is followed by a sealed root canal filling and then by a coronal reconstruction, allowing the tooth to regain its function on the dental arch.

Endodontic retreatments are necessary when a previously performed endodontic treatment has failed. Preventing retreatments requires a correct diagnosis as well as a proper and complete root canal filling.

Relax, you’re in good hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does root canal treatment hurt?

Root canal treatment is not painful. It is usually performed under local anesthesia, and in cases where the teeth are non-vital, the procedures can even be carried out without anesthesia.

What are the symptoms of dental pulp damage?

The most common symptom is pain, which can take different forms, from a dull, low-intensity pain to severe throbbing or nighttime pain. In the case of long-standing chronic conditions, pain may be absent.

Is taking antibiotics alone enough to treat an infection inside the tooth?

No, antibiotic treatment may temporarily relieve the symptoms, but dental pulp conditions necessarily require endodontic treatment.

How long does endodontic treatment take?

Usually, a standard endodontic treatment lasts one to two hours, but sometimes several sessions are necessary to completely clean the canals. Certain individual root shape characteristics may also extend the duration of the procedure.
